Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you had a joyful and happy one! I sure did! I bet I had the horsiest Christmas ever! I got new riding boots, riding gloves, breeches (Those are like leggings) and... A SADDLE OF MY OWN!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I was so happy that I got that so now I can't wait until my next riding lesson and show my instructor all my new riding gear! My family also got my brothers a 3-1 game table. It has air hockey (Our fave), pool, and ping pong (We are all REALLY bad at that one. lol) Christmas is a wonderful time of year and something that I got the chance to do this year was very exciting. At my church I was asked to play my harp infront of the congragation on Christmas eve! At first I wasn't sure if I could let alone would. I was so nervous. But I did decide to do so. I played Away In A Manger and Silent Night. Everyone loved it, and even though I was shaking with nervousness I didn't really mess up that much. My mom said that no one could have noticed if I even did. They want me back next year too. It was the biggest group I've played for before which made it scary. Also, it took awhile for them to find out how to mic a harp. :) My Christmas was the best ever! How was yours?

Marrissa and Sarah are looking through some of the records in the town hall, and find out that Mr. Banks, the ice cream
shop owner, is a old war hero! But, when they ask him about it, he denies he was ever in the war. Are the documents a
fake, or is Mr. MAJOR Banks, hiding something he doesn't want to tell people... or remember.

Small Town Mystery

Hi! Here is just a section out of my second book in this wonderful series....

When they got back, they found that the house was empty. Even Darby's dog Jewel wasn't inside. So the girl's quickly set down their bags and changed once again into some riding clothes and then headed outside. There, they found where everyone had gone. They were all down at the new stable, or soon-to-be stable.

"Wow, so I was right. My dad did put you guys to work."

Both Paul and Jake laughed and headed back inside the stable. Jake called to them and said,

"I'd skedaddle if I was you. Dad is in a recruiting mode."

"So? We wanna help! Dad we're back!"

"Great! You guys can set up the tack rooms. The saddle racks and hooks and drawers and all that stuff are already in them. The buckets need names and the grooming supplies put in them and on them. The lockers need to be set up in the two smaller ones. Remember to put the wipe-off labels on the doors of them."

"Okay Dad. Come on guys!"

Darby ran around the place like she knew every nick and cranny of it. They first went into the biggest tack room that also worked as the office.

"Okay, Jenny and Kearya, can you guys put together the saddle racks? I'll help too."

"Yeah I know how. We have these ones at our stable. We only have five though. Not ten."

"I'll need instructions, but I can do it."

"Great and here Kearya, instructions. Kenzie and Rachel you guys are going to put the hooks on the walls and see these wipe off labels? You put on above each bridle hook and one above each girth and martingale hook."

"Are we drilling them in?"

"Yeah. the drills are right there."

"Okay."

"And Marrissa and Sarah get the really fun job. You guys get to write on the buckets and sort stuff. The grooming supplies are all different colors except the hoof picks. They are the same. And the polo raps are the same just put two of the same color in each bucket it doesn't matter. Here are the list of horse names that you need to put on the labels."

"Sounds like fun!"

"Yup, and once we get this all done we'll split up and put together the smaller tack rooms."

"What are they for?"

"The people who board here get to keep their saddle and other tack in a locker. Along with their grooming supplies. This one is just for the students and the school horses. And my horse Kale and I think a few of the ones you guys ride."

"That is so cool."

"This is a very nice stable."

"Yeah, I can't wait 'til it is all done. Here are the list of names. One for Rrissa and Sarah and one for Kenz and Rachel. You guys put the names on the wipe off labels above the bridle hooks."

They all got to work. It didn't seem like work to any of them because they were having so much fun doing it.

"What are the guys doing Darby?"

"Either putting doors on the stalls in the right isle, we finished the left and center isles, or working on the feed room. They may even be working on the fencing around the indoor arena. As you could see, it was only half done."

"Yeah, and hey didn't I see Mr. Arison and Matt here?"

"Yeah, Brett is here somewhere too. They've been helping us since the beginning of the building process."

"Awesome."

"C.H.E.L.S.E.A... Chelsea."

"Huh?"

"Oh, it is one of the school horses names."

"Ohhhh."

"How many more do you have left Rrissa?"

"Three, no wait, two, and then we have to put the stuff in them."

"You guys got it easy. We're each still on like out first or second rack. And we have to put them in the wall too."

"We're just about done with the bridle hooks and labels, but we still have to put four hooks for the Martingales and girths."

"Then you guys can help us with these. We get the tack on Wednesday."

"Is that why we aren't doing any research and stuff that day?"

"Kinda, my dad will want our help but I though you guys my want a day off from depressing work."

"We probably will too."

"I'm done with my last bucket Marrissa. What about you?"

"Just about. There okay, lets start to sort."

the two girls opened the boxes that laid all around them and started to sort them out.

"How about we give Chelsea all pink and Febe all purple."

"Sure, and then Mister can have this red and Oscar blue?"

"Sure. What about Winnie and Ranger?"

"Um, how about Winnie gets Yellow, and Ranger Orange."

"Okay."

"What are you two chatting about?"

"Who gets what color stuff. We're trying to find polo raps that match too. And does this B next to Oscar and Ranger's names mean that they need boots?"

"Yeah, and those are right there. They only had brown when we ordered sorry."

"That's okay."

They finished up just about the same time as Rachel and Kenzie.

"What do you guys need help with. We're done."

" Same here."

"Well, we have eight saddle racks and we've put together five. If you want you can either start hanging them or you can put them together."

We'll hang them!"

"Okay, then Rach and I will put them together."

They quickly finished everything and then were stopped at the door by Darby's dad.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, that's all that I'm willing to give you, sorry so yeah leave me a comment and tell me if you liked it!
The Moon Necklace
Here is the selection I promised!
Come on Abbie! We need to find Star! She's only a baby! Come on girl! We'll find her! We have to!"
The two cantered off and into the woods. And then, into a clearing. Then, Abbie halted. She smelled something. And Marrissa got worried. Abbie never halted like that unless, danger lurked. Marrissa saw something big move in the mountain range ahead of her. Abbie charged it!
"Abbie no! It might be dangerous! No girl! Slow down! Whoa!"
But nothing was halting the horse. Pulling the rains, turning in a circle, nothing. The horse kept going. Finally, she went to a trot. And then a walk. But, not until they were close to the something that had moved. Marrissa gulped. She just hoped it wasn't a hungry animal. Then, she heard a scream. It sounded like a little girl. Then, she heard a horse whine!
"I'm coming Star! I'm coming!"
Again, she heard a little girl scream. This time, there was words.
"Help! Help! I'm being attacked! HELP!"
Marrissa rode quickly over the ridge. She halted when she saw, the little girl, staring up at StarLight. Scared to death.
* * *
"HOLD ON! I'LL GET YOU!"
Marrissa didn't really know who she was addressing. All she knew was that her horse was scared an so was a little girl. Why wasn't the mom near by?! Or a family member or something?!
"HELP! This horsey is going to eat me all up! HELP!"
"I'm coming sweetie."
This time, she was addressing the little girl. She hopped off Abbie and tied her reins to a rock that was sticking up. She noticed that StarLight still had her halter on.
"Ok honey, just crawl over here to me. This horesy will not hurt you!"
"O, ok. Are you sure lady?"
"Yes sweetie. I'm very sure."
And all of the sudden StarLight stopped moving. The little girl crawled on by and rapped her arms around Marrissa's neck and started crying.
"What is your name hon?"
"Olivia."
"That is very pretty. I'm Marrissa. Where is your mommy and daddy?"
"I don't got a daddy. And my mommy isn't here. I don't know where she is!"
The little girl cried again. Marrissa knew that she was going to have to take the little girl home. She plopped her up on Abbie and then swung up behind her.
"Hold onto the saddle horn Olivia."
"This?"
"Uh huh."
"Ok."
Marrissa grabbed starlight and ponied her home. When she got home, she saw that all her friends where there. They must have had no luck searching.
Hope you like it. This is one of my favorite parts in the book!
The Moon Necklace
Here is the intro to my book the moon necklace! The first book in my Marrissa Tomas series......
Prologue
Marrissa Tomas is a 13 year-old girl with green misty eyes and black hair with natural brown highlights. Her hair has natural waves. Her horse Abbie, looks a lot like her in many ways. Both have brownish blackish hair and mysterious smile. Her moon necklace is always around her neck. Marrissa lost her mom in a car crash 12 and a half years ago. Her moon necklace is the last thing that reminds her of her mom. It is a full moon, because she was born when a full moon hung in the sky. It was on a black glass holder, with a ruby stone carved into it. And this particular year, something strange is happening with it with a new horse arrives. Also, when Marrissa goes out riding, she finds a little girl, can she save the little girl from whatever is troubling her? Hurting her? Find out!
Hope you like it! I plan on writing more books to follow this one, and I will post a selection of this one later on...
Hmmmmm...
What should I do today? Does anyone have any ideas???Here are a few that I use when I'm board, and there is good weather...
Play back yard soccer! Just grab ANY ball you can find that is kickable and play with friends or family. But remember not to kick it into the street!
Sibling rivalry! If you have two or more sibs like I do, this game is fun. Just take your sibs outside and challange them to ANYTHING! BUT, make sure you are all on separate teams!
And now for some games when there is bad weather...
Finger soccer! Challange a friend or family member to a game of finger soccer! If you don't have a ping pong ball, crunch up a peice of paper!
FOR GIRLS! For all those girls out there, we need our space from boys, expeially our brothers!! If you have a friend over or a close sister, go in your or her room and just talk. Believe me, you will be board no longer!
I hope these helped you!
Back to school
Today I'm back to school. I am glad too. I am home schooled so, I GET TO DO SCHOOL IN BED! Here is what my normal school day is like...
7:00am: Wake up
7:30am: Mom leaves with brother O for kindergarten
7:35am: Practice my harp until 7:45am
7:45am: Mom gets home and we (Me and brother G) start our school
9:00am: Break time! (This is when me and G play games like soccer or walk down to the tennis court and TRY to play. lol! Or I help my mom teach brother Z preschool)
9:45am: come back inside and start school again
10:45am: finish up school. Unless it is a project that is for the whole week.
11:00am:O gets back from Kindergarten on the bus
11:30am: start lunch
12:00pm: eat lunch
So, thats my normal school day. As you saw it is nothing like most kids school day. But I like it that way. God gave me a loving mom and dad who homeschool me and my younger brother G. Also, somthing I LOVE to do is teach my little 3 year-old brother Preschool. He knows how to count up to ten and can sing the abc's up to H. I think that is amazing for a three-year old don't you? Also, he can name five different colors and ten different shapes. He has his ow little table and chair and his own back back that he uses when we go outside to learn. He loves when we sing the abc's on the swing set! So do I. Well, I hope you enjoyed this little peak into my life. This is HorseGirl, SINING OFF!
Prayer is awesome! It is a way that we can talk to God and I love that! Here is a book title that you might want to read... A Young Women's Call to prayer By. Elizebeth George I LOVE it so far and I am on the fifth chapter. It is a great book for you to read right before you go to bed or right as you wake up. There is a list of things that you need for it though. 1. A funky notebook or a note book that discribes you in colors. And then 2. A pen that matches. Mine are purple. ANYTHING by Elizebeth George is great. Remember to keep checking the E-magazine http://girlzgrowingingod.blogspot.com they have added a new column! Something to think about
What do you want to do in your adulthood?
What do you want to change right now in your life?
Do you think you are living your life for the Lord right now?
If not why? Isn't he worth living for?
Do YOU have a dream?
Think about these questions. Some of them might be a little personal for some of you but just answer them anyway! If you want you may write me a comment with your answers but you don't have to if you feel you answers are to personal. I hope you all had a wonderful but a little chilly Sunday!
Girlz Growing In God
My mom and I have set up a E-magazine called Girlz Growing In God. If you are interested at seeing it just go to http://girlzgrowingingrace.blogspot.com and check it out!!!!
Movie Review: High School Musical
Almost everyone out there reading this knows about HSM (High School Musical)And almost everyone out there enjoyed it. So here is my movie review on HSM.
In this story a girl named Gabriella and a boy named Troy meet at a new years eve party at a lodge. Troy is a basket ball boy and Gabriella is a school genius girl. They are picked to sing together and end up cranking up the party when they find the voices they never had. Then when Troy goes back to New Mexico for school and thinks that he has seen the last of his beautiful singing partner, he meets her again in his homeroom class. He calls her on her cell phone and get himself and her in BIG trouble with their teacher Ms. Darbus. Troy, Gabriella, Troy's BF Chad, Ryan and Sharpay Evens and Taylor another smart girl at east high school all get detention for different reasons. After that Troy shows Gabriella around the school and Sharpay gets jealous. Later Troy secretly goes to the auditions for the spring musical to just see what it is like. Gabriella also goes there just to watch. Then the pianist, Kelsi trips and falls so they go help her pick up her paper. She asks them if they would like to hear how the duet is sapposed to sound and they start singing. Ms. Darbus tells them they have a call back and Sharpay goes crazy! She tells Ms. Darbus that she needs to change the call backs to the same day as Troy's big basket ball game and the same day as the Scolastic dicatholon. She says it would be better for everyone. Ms Darbus gives in and Troy and gabriella go crazy! How will they ever get do all the things they need to do if they are all on the same day at the same time?! Watch the movie and find out! This movie is rated G and I rate it AA for all ages.
WOW
Tonight was WOW. We sung songs outside by a bonfire and talked about having Jesus as our friend. Then I hung out with one of my friends and we talked about how annoying our brothers are. She has two of her own and so she understands. Then she left and for like half an hour I was all alone. Everyone I knew just walked right by me. I think I'm turning invisible. And When I tried to talk to them they ignored me. My friend who was giving me a ride home was no where to be found until her mom showed up so yeah, tonight I was kinda lonely. Have you ever felt that way before? I hope you all have a good night and I am praying for everyone out there!
Have a wonderful night and remember Jesus will be your friend if you obey his commandments!
Dreams
Do you think that dreams can come true? I'm not talking about your dreams of say flying pigs or living in the past, I'm talking about you future dreams. What do you want to do when you are an adult? I know what I want to do. I want to work with disable kids and their families. Also I would like to work with horses. Those two were easy to combine. Then I decided that I want to change the world. I would have disable kids and able bodied kids in the same stable and same classes some of the time. That way they would learn to respect one another. Also I would teach my faith.
Here are some of the questios that I am asked about my dream...
Why do I want to do this?
Q.1. Why do you want to work with kids with disabilities and horses?
A.1. I know that everyone was made by the same God and is loved equally by him too. So why do we judge people with disabilities like they were aliens from a unknown planet? Know don’t get me wrong. There are PLENTY of people out there in the world that love people equally no matter there color, ability or disability and THANKYOU ALL! I want to be like you guys!
Q.2. Why don’t you go into something like singing?
A.2.
Well, I won’t lie I do have a good voice but I feel like working with disable kids and their families along side horses is what I was called to do here on this earth.
Q.3. Are you a Christian?
A.3.
YES! I believe in the one and only true God and I want to share that with people.
Q.4. Well then why don’t you become a missionary?
A.4.
I will. In a different way than most people think of missionaries. When people think about them they think of people in Africa or other 3rd world countries tired and distressed. But I will share by faith with the people I work with weather its kids and their families or anything else. I want to show Gods love to others!
Q.5. Do you know anyone that is disable?
A.5.
Yes. I know a few. One is a boy named Zack. I don’t quite know his disability but I know that its there. He is sweet and tries hard to fit in. The other ones are brother and sister by adoption. They both have downs syndrome. The eldest, a boy who is 4 or 5 and the other a little one year old girl. Both cute are a button!
Q.6. Have you ever ridden a horse before?
A.6.
YES! And I love it VERY much!
Q.7. How did you find out that you wanted to work with disable kids?
A.7.
Well, I read this book written by Bonnie Bryant who writes the Saddle Club series and it just inspired me. I have read books on almost every kind of mental and a few physical diseases out there. And A LOT of books on horses.
Q.8. Have you had any people that have inspired you too?
A.8.
No. Not really. Although my family is supportive.
Q.9. What else could you want to do if your dream right know wasn’t an option?
A.9.
Sing! Well ok. Most likely NOT singing. I couldn’t do concerts. But I would most likely still work with kids.
Q.10. Last one. How old were you when you got your inspiration?
A.10.
eleven or twelve.
So find out what is your dream and work for it! Dreams do come true if you want them enough!
Fun Games to play
Here are some fun games to play outside this summer!
1. Catch the giant Frisbee!
To play this game you need to go to wal-mart or target and by one of those big fabric Frisbee (Unless you have one) And then you send one or more people about eight feet away from you and then you throw the Frisbee and they try to catch it. You all take turns throwing the Frisbee and its really fun and great exercise!
2. Daddy's backyard baseball
This game was made up by my dad. Its real baseball in the sense that someone pitches the ball and you hit it with a bat but, once you start running LOOK OUT! your dad is aloud to push you off the base so hold your ground. And he also is aloud to grab your shirt while your running and tag you. Its fun but tricky! Great for the whole family!
3. Obstacle coarse race!
This is SO much fun! Create teams with your Sib's, friends or both! then make an obstacle coarse with the tings in your back yard. If you have a swing set have the teams climb across the swings. A pool, (If they all have swim suits) Have them swim across and then you could make the teams wair silly things like a balloon on their head or tie ribon on their legs. Get creative and go outside!
I hope you enjoy these games and you can play them in the spring, summer and fall! Play them and then write me a comment to tel me all about your experince!
Something to think about
3. One sunday morning VERY rich man was murdered. When the FBI asked the people who were with him they said...
Wife: I was reading a book
Gardener: I was watering the plants
The FBi new who had murdered him. Do you know?
Movie Reveiw: Beetoven
Beetoven is a great movie for all ages. It is rated PG though I think that it should be rated G. In this movie a St. Barnard puppy is stolen from a pet store and gets away. he finds this family, the Newtons and decides to stay. Well the kids think its wonderful that they have a puppy, but the dad he thinks that the puppy will be destructive. But he and Mrs. Newton give in and let them keep him. Then the family try to name him. The get Beetoven when the youngest child, Emily starts to play one of Beethoven's songs on the piano and batoven barks the toon with her. As Beetoven grows up he gets a bigger and bigger apetite. He also makes bigger messes. Then one day the dog nappers that had dog napped him a year ago need bigger dogs. Well they take one look at full grown Beetoven and know that he is big enough for them. So the main bad guy takes the role as a vet when Beetoven needs to get his shots. He tells Mr. Newton that Beetoven could turn on anyone at anytime. Now Beetoven would NEVER do so and the vet figures that out really fast. So he makes a "House call" and pretends that Beetoven bit him. So he tells the Newtons that Beetoven MUST be put down. So Mr. Newton takes Beetoven down to the Veterinarian clinic to be put down. I won't spoil it for you but I want you to know that it all turns out OK in the end. I have a rating systen that I use when I'm rating a movie. AA is for all ages. YK is for younger kids. OK is for older kids. YT is for young teens. OT is for older teens. And AO is for adults only. This movie I rate AA. I hope you enjoy Beetoven!!!!!!!!!
Mastocysis
I bet almost none of you have heard of this disease. And until a few days ago neither did I. My baby brother Z.Z was diagnosed with it. It means that your body has too many mast cells which are made in your bone marrow. And your mast cells produse histamean so he has too much histamean in his body. And incase you don't know what histameane is it it what your body makes when yourr are stung by a insect or anything else that makes you swell. So his body has too much now and if his body makes much more he COULD pass out and stop breathing. So he needs to take claritin and has to carry an epi pen everywhere he goes. We still are doing LOTS and LOTS of tests on him but we are getting closer to the answer. Here is the link to his caring bridge site.
Wow
Wow! I love going to church on Wed. I Love youth group! My youth group is called Wow. Witch stands for Wild On Wed. We play some weird games, sing songs (Christen songs) and learn about God. I also get to spend time with my friends. We talk and laugh together. It is a challenge though not to get rammed into the wall by the "Pillow resealing" So we always hold a pillow in our laps so if we do get sat on or bumped into we don't feel much. We have small group time after my youth Pastor speaks on a topic. Then we go to small group and talk about that. This summer We are having VBS and I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO excited! I will be working with second and third graders. It is a Hawaiian Theme. It will be cool to see how many kids show up for this. Well I had a great night at WOW and hope everyone else out there had and has a great night!
Friendship
Friendship is something that alot of people take for granted. They meet someone and they talk to them and they think that they becomeinstant best fiends. But they don't always stay friends. Just because someone is nice to you one day does not always mean that they want to be your friend forever. Sometimes they might just talk to you and then you thing "Hey maybe this is going to be my one true friend." But sometimes they arn't. You have to be carful who you choose to be friends with. If you choose to be friends with someone who get in truble alot you have to be carful around them. Don't let them rub off on you. If you choose to be friends with someone who is kind to everyone then you should probuly spend more time with them. I'm not saying that you shoudn't be friends with people who are a little diffrent than you I am just saying that you have to be very carful who you choose to be friends with and which ones that you trust fully. If you tell a friend something that you wanted kept a secret and then they blab it to evey one they know are you going to trust them in the fuchure? I don't think so. So when you make a choice about your friends PLEASE be carful and leave it up to God. Ask him if that person needs you as a friend or if you need them as a friend. It hurts alot when a friend turns around and talks about you behind your back or spreds a secret that you intrusted them with. You can be friends with these people but just be carful. If you hang around with them they might change some. They might see that you don't spred gossip around and that you care about others secrets. Also you have toe sure that you are a good friend. Don't YOU go spred gossip around or else YOU will be without friends. Be kind to your friends. Jesus was kind to everyone he met. Try to be like him.
Harp Lesson
Today I had a harp lesson. I go every Thursday night. Today I learned how to keep my hand in the correct position when I play with more than one finger. It is pretty hard but I love playing. My teacher is really nice too. I have been playing my harp for almost one year. I was inspired to play the harp when I went to a home school conference at a MACHE conference a few years ago. The people giving the conference that I went to were the Mali Children. Each of them play the harp. It is SO beautiful and soothing. My mom loves it when I play. She says that she can never tell when I make a mistake but I know when I do and it REALLY bugs me. I will play that song over and over again until I can play it without any mistakes. Even if it means playing that song ten times, I want to make it as close to perfect as possible. I try to practice for at least a half an hour a day. But sometimes I play more. I don't mind though, nobody in my family does, we all (Well except Gus and O) love when I play. Even my little brother Z.Z who is only two likes playing the harp and piano with me. I LOVE MUSIC!!!
Bible Study
I Love doing bible studies. The one that I am doing this week is about Grace. Here are a few verses for you to look at and questions that you can ask your self that involve Grace...
Micah 7:18-20
18Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. 19You will again have compassion onus; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. 20You will be true to Jacob, and show mercy to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to out fathers in days long ago.
1. When was the last time you gave Grace to someone you know?
2. Do you know what Grace is?
3. Did you know that God gives us Grace without having to earn it?
Growing In Grace
Hi! my mom sent me this link in an email. She thought it looked good.
It is a Christian site for girls. It is an online magazine.
Homeschooling
Homeschooling awesome! I am homeschooled and love it very much. I went to public elementary school a few years. But now I have been homeschooled, since second grade. What do you think you would prefer, going to school or homeschooling? I'm just wondering what others think.
Bible verses
The bible is an awesome book. The verses in there can and will change your life. One verse that will definitely change your life is John 3:16 another one is Psalm 56:3 , I have that one on my side bar. But my favorite bible verse is 2 Corinthians 4:18. It is an awesome verse. It is posted down at the bottom of this page. Do you have a favorite bible verse?
